To Cusco!

When you're done reading this post, check out the one below it, because chances are, unless you're a rabid Mt. Cleverest Fanatic (I know they exist) you didnt check my blog during the 5 minutes in between the two.

OK I have just been informed that, although the strike has not ended, there will be a transport to Cuzco/Cusco tonight at 8pm. Its going to be expensive, $25, but instead of paying the $45 for the weekend here, I'll be spending like $18 for the weekend. It works out that its a little bit less expensive to be in Cusco, even though I'll be in a hostal instead of a three star hotel. But the main thing is the cold. I dont have the clothes, nor do I want to buy them, for 4 days in the frozen tundra that is Puno in June. Heres's the math for those that care.

Staying in Puno for the weekend:
$15x3 for lodging 45
$10 for monday bus 10
____
$55

of course that price doesnt include "Freezing my you know what's off in the evenings, when I'm not in my room and the sun has gone down" which would be valued at a cost of about $300, so the total comes to $355

Going to Cusco tonight
$8x3 for lodging 24
$25 for bus 25
_________
$49

That price doesnt include getting to hang around the remnants of today's festival, which should still be, at least in some way, going on when I'm out and about tomorrow. That opportunity cost lowers the price to like $0.
