Food poisoning last night

Not fun. That's all that really needs to be said about that.

I also had a meeting with a real estate professional, Wilbert Alviz ( http://www.wasichay.com/) and that was quite informative. One of the things that separates Lima real estate from Cusco real estate, is the number of historic buildings and homes they have here. As previously mentioned, the hostal I'm staying in is over 300 years old, and is currently under renovations. Wilbert talked about how all construction and renovation on historical buildings has to be cleared by the INC (National Institute of Culture), and this fact was echoed by the guys in charge here, except in a more bitter tone. Apparently if they want to paint a wall a certain color, install a door in an empty doorframe, or change anything at all, it has to be cleared with the Institute. Makes sense I suppose, if you want to protect your national culture. Which it seems they do.

I have another real estate meeting tonight at 6 PM with the same gentleman, but he's going to take me to meet a colleague of his, who speaks English. Although my Spanish skills are without a doubt flawless, it may be helpful to talk with someone in English as well, just to get some of the more naunced information.

I'm so glad you are experiencing local influences and food......what's a trip without a little stomach adjustment????
Hope you are through that and eat light for the next day.
Good that you ARE meeting with the locals......
Did you get any response from the Embassy in Uruguay? I haven't yet.
I'll keep trying. Went down to the Cherry Festival midway with Zack tonite...lots of funny memories!
Good luck and eat right...MotherFi
